Our Story

Like many young families in London, we often toyed with the idea of leaving the city— for more space, a slower pace.

In 2024 we finally took the leap. Fuelled by a mix of madness and adrenaline, we crammed our lives—tent, toddler, baby, and one enormous shaggy dog—into our Ford Focus and set sail across the Celtic Sea to Spain. We cruised bare-foot along the Spanish and Portuguese coasts, looking for the goldilocks land where art, surfing and community would align with our hopes.

Pat would find a friendly beachside café to work from, always close-by. I would perch near the ocean and feed Sabre whilst building sandcastles with Wolfe, simultaneously dodging lashings of sand as the dog furiously dug holes. Watching them all exist so peacefully in nature was really satisfying. However there was something missing and I couldn't figure out what.

We couldn’t stay floating around forever and we returned back to the UK. I wasn’t too sorry to say goodbye to the tent though…

Wolfe would soon be starting school and we needed to find somewhere to settle. Serendipitously, multiple people mentioned East Sussex. We didn’t expect to fall in love… but that’s how love works sometimes. East Sussex is wonderful blend of history, creativity, beauty and community - it felt like home.

Pat and I have always been creative people and we are always juggling about five different pipe dreams. This online space is our way of filtering and funnelling those dreams into something more tangible.

Like many, we often feel stifled by what we have to do to survive—deadlines, office jobs, the daily grind. But we’re also incredibly lucky. Carving out time for the romantic parts of life—candle-making, painting, baking—helps us return to the present and find rhythm again.

There may never be a time when we don’t need a 'day job', but we will always be creating. Wolfe + Sabre Studio is our space to play, experiment and to celebrate every sweet fleeting phase of life—however long it may last.
